Attend a Local Town Hall

Our members of Congress have one main job during the August recess: to listen to us and the issues we care about.

Find a town hall in your area and speak with your elected official about the Employment Non-Discrimination Act or immigration reform. All of our members of Congress need to hear about both of these issues; however, in the map above, we have noted which Congresspeople are especially in need of hearing from transgender advocates on either issue.

When you arrive at a town hall meeting, respectfully ask your members of Congress where they stand on these issues. Your questions will be an important learning opportunity for the elected official and for the audience in the room.

If you do not see a town hall listed in your area, contact your Congressperson to see if they have one scheduled. Call the Capital Switchboard to be connected to your members of Congress: (202) 224-3121.
