As Trans Day of Visibility approaches, we can’t wait to celebrate our community and build trans power with you! You’re invited to our two upcoming TDOV events in Washington D.C.: Transform the Vote Rally and the Blossom Gala.

The TRANSform the Vote Rally, presented by the National Center for Transgender Equality in partnership with Queer Equity Institute, will take over the National Mall with joyous performances, inspiring speakers, and community engagement activities aimed at fundraising and voter registration. Honored guests, performers, and speakers include the iconic actress, advocate, singer, and TRANSTech CEO Angelica Ross as well as representatives from DC organizations like HIPS and Trans-Latinx DMV.

During the rally, we are also thrilled to announce that the celebrated transgender artist CASSILS will be presenting  Etched in Light, a Trans Justice Art Action made with 100+ trans and non-binary artists and featuring vocal invocations and musical scoring by musical group Blood Is Here (Carmina Escobar, Roco Córdova and Dorian Wood). This performance will result in the live creation of one of the world’s largest cyanotype images and mark Trans Day of Visibility on a dramatic scale. There's an open call for trans and nonbinary folks to participate in the art piece itself, and you can learn more and sign up here. This event is absolutely FREE to attend!

Date and time: Sunday, 3/31, 11am - 3pm
Location: Jefferson St SW & 7th St SW

RSVP here!

In the evening, we’ll celebrate at the first annual Blossom Gala at Hook Hall. Hosted by Trans USA National Pageantry and the National Center for Transgender Equality, this joyful celebration will include an all-trans drag showcase featuring internationally renowned entertainers as well as our favorite local legends. This is a ticketed event where admission starts at $15. Multiple ticket options are available to ensure that this event remains accessible to all, and we invite all attendees to "dress to impress" with their interpretation of Blossom -- a theme that celebrates the beauty of coming into one's own as a confident, visible, and powerful member (or ally) of the trans community.

Date and time: Sunday, 3/31, 5pm - 10:30pm
Location: Hook Hall, 3400 Georgia Ave NW, Washington, DC 20010
RSVP on Facebook or get your tickets directly here!

We are also seeking local volunteers in the DC area to help make our two Trans Day of Visibility events a success. Volunteers can sign up to volunteer for one or both events, and shifts are 2 hours long. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out this form to learn more about how you can help and let us know what we can count you in for. Volunteers will be required to attend a virtual orientation several days before the event to go over logistics.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Alex del Rosario ([email protected]).  We can't wait to see you!
