A Note About 2015 U.S. Trans Survey Delays

Image

Yesterday, we opened up the 2015 U.S. Trans Survey for people to complete and learned that even our 7 servers could not keep up with the number of enthusiastic participants. We understand that this has been a frustrating experience with the unusual delays. We are working intently to resolve this issue and we thank everyone who stuck with it and submitted their survey.

For those who are experiencing slow response times, we encourage you to revisit the site in the next day or two while initial launch-day traffic slows down. The survey will be available to take at least until September 21st. If extended wait times persist for you, we encourage you to return to the site to complete your survey in the coming days. If you have already gotten through some pages of the survey, you can leave your current page open and return to it later. If the survey times you out, you can hit the "back" button. However, if you close your browser, you may have to restart the survey.

We are receiving a common question about the survey format. Many have wondered why each page only includes a small number of questions. To help clarify that, the survey uses "skip-logic," which is a feature in many online surveys that presents specific questions based on someone's previous answers. This allows the 2015 U.S. Trans Survey to ask deeper questions about someone's experiences creating a unique survey experience for every person. This means that not every person will receive the same number of questions because each individual's experiences are varied.

We thank you again for your patience and understanding while we resolve the response time issue.
